While the Yankees managed to keep their young pitching and tremendous lineup, GM Brian Cashman failed to add any peices realy. The whole Johan Santanta trade never panned out and with Joe Blanton on the trade market, you have to wonder why the Yankees havent pursued a good, young, and veteran pitcher in Blanton. Blanton is only 28 years old, so he is still young, and the Yankees have alot of young pitching they could trade. Blanton would add immediate depth to the rotation, and could allow the Yankees to keep Joba in the bullpen.

 This would also allow the kids some leash and take some pressure off of them. I also beleive it gives the Yankees a more stable rotation and with Joba in the Bullpen, we also could arguably have the best in baseball. So not only does Blanton help our rotation, he also improves our bullpen.

Major Success- The Yankees were able to resign Jorge Posada, Mariano Rivera, and that A-Rod guy. Added LaTroy Hawkins a veteran arm who will probably struggle in the American League, but can eat innings. Added Johnathan Alabadejo, who knows what he can contribute to the team, can be a dark horse to make the team. And only saw the Yankees lose Louis Viscaino, who pitched descently last season. Broke down early, heated up around June, was good untill the end of August, and lost it again in September and in Game 2 of the ALDS, and Tyler Clippard, who had the big debut against the Mets on ESPN, and thats about it. We also managed to keep ALL of our young pitching, the big 3 of Hughes, Kennedy, and Joba looks like it will be a item in pinstripes for a long time.
